It result from  Coronaviruses, which is a group of related viruses that causes diseases in mammals and birds.In humanbeings ,it causes respiratory  tract infections that can be mild such as the common cold and others that can be lethal such as SARS ,MERS and COVID - 19.

Symptoms

Different People are affected in different way .According to WHO  most infected people can develop mild symptoms and recover without special treatment.Individual with other medical conditions and those who are over 60 years  are at  higher risk of sympoms being severe

and resulting to death.

Common Symptoms Include:

1.Dry Cough

2.Tiredness

3.Dry Cough

4.Shortness of Breath

5.Sore throat

6.Sometimes Diarrhoea ,Nausea or a runny nose

The first three  are the most common ,however if you notice any of those symptomps dont panic just contact the medical provider in your area for advice on testing and referral.

It wise to  seek medical attention  on time dont wait untill its too late.

Prevention

Do

1.Make Sure you wash  hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub like Sanitizers.

2.Anytime you couch or Sneeze ensure you cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow.

3.Avoid close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell

 

4.If you feel unwell avoid crowded places , Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household.

Do Not

   1.Touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are dirty

Treatments

Medical Treatment

In case you develop a fever, cough, and have difficulty breathing, promptly seek medical care. Call in advance and tell your health provider of any recent travel or recent contact with travelers

Self Care

Incase you  have mild symptoms, stay at home until you’ve recovered. You can relieve your symptoms if you:

- Rest and sleep

- Keep warm   

-Drink plenty of liquids

-Take a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough
